Electric buggy help!

Plugging in the speed controller and the steering servo for the first time to the receiver.

The steering servo is shaped so that it will only fit into the receiver a certain way, but the speed controller plug isnt. How do I know which way round it plugs in? I dont want to fry the receiver.

Is it ok to just mimic the line-up of colours from left to right on the steering plug?

Yep...! The wiring layout is the same for both. (-ve+vesig IIRC) goes in the same way as the steering servo.
