I am sure I used to be able to buy 3/4mm wide white adhesive tape to use as the this white boot topping on the waterline for model boats. I’m not sure if it was simply tape or car coach line tape, either way, I cannot seem to find it anywhere now, and I need some!
The only think I found that comes close is ‘gridding tape’, but that’s in either black or red, no white!

The hull is simply too long to try and cut a normal width of tape to 3mm width required.

Any help appreciated,

Cheers

Tamiya do a whole range of excellent masking tapes, (none are white though). Why not buy some of the correct width, (there's a wide selection......no pun intended), and put that on the waterline, then mask up to it top and bottom, peel off the Tamiya stuff and paint your waterline ? Job sorted.

You'll find lots of Tamiya tapes on e-bay or in decent model stores; either real or web-based. Hannants have a great site.

skodaku, thanks for that - I managed to order some white coach line tape from a car body shop supplier in the exact width I need!
Apparantly, Halfords don't stock anything like that anymore, as new cars don't have them on the bodywork now!
