As previously mentioned the current project is 1:12 scale and is turning out rather larger than I had first imagined.

You have to imagine the flaps and anhedral wing tips for the momement...

Currently trying to resolve the mechanics of the worlds most complex undercarriage retraction smash

Dont suppose anyone knows of any video source of where the TSR2 retracted the U/C? (now that would be rare!)

Kinell...! That is some project. IIRC the retracts on the TSR2 were very complex due to packaging constraints. I seem to remembver I had a video somewhere showing the restract sequence.

May be of some use : www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q_j1heMO2A BAH. No retract sequence. Didn't they have issues with the restract - it got stuck on it's first test so they never tried it again before it got scrapped...? Something like that.

If I find anything I'll send it on.

That's a big yes

I'm sure there was something about the main bogies rotating through 180° as they retracted (god knows why...)
So I'll do without the 180° rotation and try and ignore just how much those oleos extended eek and do something simpler that works.

Thanks for the video link Roop, I'm sure I've seen that somewhere else in a documentary?

That looks impressive.

Is it balsa? Is it going to be a flying model?

Le TVR - I have about a dozen close up pictures of the TSR2 I took on a visit to Cosford a couple of months ago. PM me if you think they'd be of any use.

Yes its mostly balsa and plywood and some fibreglass, carbonfibre and aluminium.
Power is two 90mm ducted fans with Mega 22/30/3 motors on 8S lipos.
If I can achieve the target weight of 4kg then thrust to weight will be 1:1

So flying should be a reasonable assumption......

Thanks for the offer but I have huge photo file and a video 'walk-round' already. Just cant seem to find anything with the retract sequence yet.

Give it positive power to weight. Nothing like standing it on the thrust and going vertical. Go on. You know you want to. Go on go on go on go on etc ad infinitum.
