Selling RC car
Discussion
I want to sell my 1/10th touring car and wondered whether anyone had any ideas on the best place to sell. I know ebay is probably the best but I want to sell the complete setup (car, charger, batteries, tools, setup stuff, spares and all the other things that I have!). I know that I will never get back the £(000's)'s that I have spent but want to get more than the £2.50 that I'd probably get on ebay... so any suggestions of good places to sell would be muchly appreciated
What make of car and gear is it?
Your best bet is to advertise it on the various rc car forums such as www.tamiyaclub.com/ , and if ebaying, sell all the parts, batteries, charger separately for more money.
ps: wanna buy a schumacher pro cat

I have Schumacher MI2 (used once!) 27 turn motor LRP quantum pro speed controller, propeak charger, hpi setup system, schumacher setup system, 240v power supply, spare body (still in packet!), batteries, spares etc etc etc...
Not really sure how much I want for it... not expecting fortunes by any means, its just taking up space and I would prefer that someone used it.
The only thing that worries me selling it on ebay is that some of the bits won't sell and I will be lumbered with bits that I can't do anything with

I've found that if you bundle up small bags of bits, rather than trying to sell each piece on it's own will actually help you on eBay. Also if you have something that you do not want to sell for peanuts, you can put a reserve on it so it won't go cheap.
Also, having a low starting price really does seem to encourage more bids, don't ask me why but it does. I had some items recently that I put online for £5 but didn't shift. So I thought, sod it, I'll relist them for 99p - they then all sold over £5 with the highest one getting more than £10!!!
Strange but it does seem to work!!

I would give you £50, but suspect you would get more on ebay. Its definately the best place for this type of thing

I have to agree with some of the comments above, some stuff goes really well and some stuff doesn’t, just the luck of the draw with whose looking. A couple of years ago I sold a tamiya Egress for a 3 figure sum and about a year ago I saw one on there, un-built and in the box, which didn’t go for its £20 starting price.
I intend to get back into RC racing again and have been buying bits and pieces off ebay recently. I thinks it brilliant, I got a predator for good money.
Good luck with the auction

the thing with ebay is its like any kind of real auction where if people are interested on the day it will fetch good money, a chance you take on listing it i suppose, plus always go for the longest auction time (10 days) and theyre wise words about starting bidding at 99p rather than £5. it creates more interest and people then forget the price as theyre already in the bidding war if they want the item.
i sold some elvis singles last year 99p start and ended up at £113, £23 above my reserve and book price
then you see people with the same single and a starting bid of something like £60 and they never sell
reserve prices start at £50 but you can still start the auction at say 99p and you know the item is safe until it reaches the reserve price.
