I have (the use of) an hpi Savage. But the b'stard wont corner. It has an understeer problem of biblical proportions.

Ive nicked a couple of spacers out of the one of the back shocks and stuck them in the fronts to try and stiffen it up, but now it wallows so badly at the back, the fronts are barely on the ground in a corner at all.

Is there a tried and tested way of getting these things to turn?

Im also considering dropping the ride height to help stop it flipping. Maybe shorter, firmer springs all round?

I could never get my Savage to handle so ended up just living with it, sold it now. Lowering helps a lot, i also found a little toe in on the front helped it turn in but i always ended up flipping the thing over grumpy banghead

Stiffen the rear, soften the front. Toe out will help also, but at the cost of straight line stability. Also, try braking hard upto the corner, then as you come off the brake turn-in.

If it's understeering once it's turned in then stiffen the rear anti roll bar - if it has one.
