Hi Guys,
I'm interested in getting an r/c car as follows
1. Budget £200ish
2. Touring car / le mans or road car type
3. can be a kit as I want to make it a bit individual
4. Nitro at this price?
5. Best quality manufacturers are?
6. 1/10
7. Where to buy

Thanks for any help

How about a Tamiya based on the TA-05 chassis. Very good quality chassis with many nice alloy amd composite parts. Loads of body shells to choose from too. Scop for hopping up to faster / lighter parts is wide. It's not a nitro, but finding a good quality nitro for the money is hard - trust me.

Electric is also beneficial as you can race it indoors as well as out...!

Cheers,

Roop

There are plenty of Models to choose from in that price range, I run a 1/10th Losi xxx-s which is a good reliable car, its a little out of date now but at the club I race it is still competitive. I paid over £200 for the chassis alone but I'm sure its come down in price quite a bit since then!

As for Body Styles there are plenty, have a look on either model sport uk or Apex models websites for a good selection.

Not sure a Nitro car for £200 will be very good, I would go for electric and uprate as and when ability/money allows.

Its also easier to find clubs running electric touring car races than it is Nitro (or at least it is round my area)

Regards,

Tom

Or can I get a body like that to fit a TA-05?

The TT-01 is a good little entry level chassis, again that can be hopped up a lot. The TA-05 is a much better chassis though and would make a good intermediate entry to club level racing.

It's mre than likely that the shell from the Merc will fit the TA-05.

Better controllers can be bought but it depends how far and advanced you want to go, also the cost comes into it aswell.

I'm willing to let my TT-01 chassis, and HPI pro 4 (in bits) go for £100.

you could make one complete car! either a tt-01 or a pro 4. would come complete with hand controller servo Etc, etc.

comes with spares and no end of bits, and a full racing 27T motor.
i couldn't tell you about all the other bit's and bobs.

the Pro4 rolling chassis is worth £100 alone.

contact me through my profile if interested.

Hi Barry, not sure if its of any interest but:

Ive got a Thunder Tiger EB4 like below (NOT the S2, just the 'normal' EB4)

which is now built to the EB4 Rally Game Citroen Xsara spec like this:

Car has sat in my garage for a year unused since conversion to Rally Game spec and since I got my TT ST1 Been meaning to stick it on eBay but just havent gotten round to it.

NEVER been used since Rally Game spec conversion, so is still as new (the RG bits anyway, generally the buggy is in very good condition). Usual .21 engine and a few hop ups plus all radio gear etc and spare wheels/tyres (both off road, grass and road tyres). Best of both worlds! Road and off-road

PM me if you are at all interested. Located in West Sussex. Substantially less than your £200 budget limit

Yes mods, I know about adverts, but there isnt an RC section in classifieds AFAIK

Oi Furbie, bring it along on friday and i'll have a looksie at it, if you haven't sold it by then hehe

Joy spent most of Saturday afternoon watching me trash mine (again) and the rest of the w/e stripping it and re-building the front diff paperbag Some how I think that having a second one might just mean that i'll have at least one of them working at any one time. (yes i know there is a flaw in this (that there'll be two in peices at any one time) but don't tell her!!!)
