Quick question for the PH massive.

My girlfriend 'bought' me a Carrera GT model and a Gulf 917 in 1:18 from a well known model car/bike seller who advertises on the internet and by catalogue.

The models were 'shippable within 14 days' so Becky ordered the cars over the internet. My birthday was the 18th October.

Having had a bulk email from the proprietor about late deliveries last week - it's obviously not a rare occurrence, so Becks cancelled her order as I wouldn't even get the cars for Christmas, let alone my birthday.

I've had 3 catalogues from the bastards though.

Does anyone know where I can get top-quality Porsche models (917 Gulf, 1973 RS, Carrera GT, etc.) in 1:18 from a company that actually can ship what they profess to sell?

I won't name and shame but obviously my girlfriend is pretty upset at being let down

Sorry to hear your story - I think I know the store - been let down myself by them.

So, try these places for your requirements -

www.autoartinabox.com
www.swapmeet-models.co.uk (might be better to phone for up to date stock)
www.diecastzone.co.uk

Hope this helps!

here's a good site (German) for most models, often a bit cheaper than the UK and excellent customer service. Unlike Grand Prix/Diecast Legends, who in my experience are rubbish.

Hi there cyberface

I hear that kind of story every week, yet 1000's still seem to use that company you mention!!!

Drop me an email and let me know what you are after, I shall see what we have in stock for you and make sure you get your models (if in stock) to you by Christmas. Only deal in AUTOart, but their range of Porsche raod and race cars is of the highest quality for your bucks, and no other brand, apart from CMC and Exoto come close, espcially when you consider the prices of those two compared to AUTOart.

You can email me through my profile details.

Regards

Scott.

I would have to agree with the previous post, only get AutoArt. Exoto are expensive but very detailed.

I collect Porsche 1:18 models that i get from eBay.co.uk, just do a search for Porsche 1 18, but always check the sellers feedback before you bid or purchase

Cyberface, the company you mention claim to be the biggest and best at everything, which they simply aren't. How they are still in business beats me their customer service is useless when all they truly offer is empty promises.
