Okay, idiot time now. Can’t get the nitro to start, well I can, from cold, but it is taking ages, even after it's warmed up it isn’t starting without a lot of turning over.

Now I’ve checked the hook up of the exhaust/fuel tank and fuel tank/carburettor pipes and fuel is getting through okay. I’ve also tried and changed the glow plug.

Any suggestions? All I can say is thank Christ for the wonder of the roto start or I’d have had it in the bin and a new one on order now!!!

that's before i go into the fact that the clutch isn't working and i can't undo the screw to dismatle the thing and check it out!!!

Prime it all ready for a start. Unscrew the plug and try a drop or two of nitro directly into the cyllinder. Keep the glow hooked up for 30 seconds once it's started. That should do the trick.

Try adjusting the low speed mixture screw, may be a little weak.

Some of my cars i have found i need to richen the mixture to start then back off to normal when warm, mostly only a quarter to half a turn is neccessary.

i use hairdryer + sock trick. i put old sock, with "foot" part cut off, over the cooling head, and hair dry at hottest setting on cooling head. to warm it up. 3 min. should see it starting first time.......

Thanks for the tips guys.

Got it going much better now! Only problem I have is that the springs on the new style clutch I’ve just had to buy (old one out of stock and no more likely to come in for a while) are a bit too strong and the slightest damp or patch of tall grass is causing it to slip. Any ideas on how to ‘weaken’ the springs, there’s no adjustment that I can see so I take it it’s just a question of wearing them in a bit.
