Hi there,

Here's some pics of my Porsche collection at our Cafe here in New Zealand. It's been a part time hobby picking up the odd model here and there. There are some I am missing that I could just go out and buy but that would be no fun. I have just purchased a 996 GT3R and also a 935 Longtail to add to it. I have stuck to road colors only and racing livery on models only available in race form not road to keep the collection from getting out of hand. Last one is a bit off topic but is of our 965 Coin operated car which is going out in front of our Cafe. I'm gradually building up the Porsche paraphernalia at the cafe and people come from other towns just to see the models etc. I'm longing for a Pocher 993 and would also love the air operated 911 motor.

Awesome...there is life in the board

Post em up. I have a mate who's collection is very impressive. I'll get him to post his up later. I have the MK2 GT3. It's in the middle picture on the top right hand side. I had a MK1 but gave it to a mate after he brought the real thing, same color and all. I've never really been into collections but after I got a few for gifts I though it'd be cool. I restricted them to Road going cars only to keep the collection down and I've just started buying cars in racing livery that weren't available in road trim. I'm missing some simple to get ones like the 924, Cayenne, GT3rs, 914 etc but it's no fun just buying them all at once

Ha ha laugh, yes there is life in here mate but as i've found out things travel a little slower on here compared to other fourms. My `little` collection consists of around 70 1/18th scale road (and some) race cars. I'll get some pictures done then post them up on here with a few detial shots for you to see within the next week or so. The 996 i was talking about i found on amazon here...
www.amazon.co.uk/Die-Cast-Model-Porsche-996-GT3/dp/B0006M5VMY/sr=1-50/qid=1161974904/ref=sr_1_50/203-0582172-7298329?ie=UTF8&s=kids (sorry for the link being so long, i don't know how to chop the name down) but trust me the detial on this is superb and in my little collection i have around 10 AutoArt pices now and they are my first port of call reguarding models now.

Right here you go mate, the loooooong awaited pictures of my 1/18th scale collection. Sorry it’s taken soooooo long to get these up here for you, some serious work commitments of late have dictated that I haven’t had much PC time. All in all I’ve taken OVER 300 pictures of the models. I wont post them all here (unless you’d like to see them all) but, I will post some of the nicer pictures for you.

Enjoy…….

The collection as a whole….

Dodge Charger Daytona.

Ford GT40 Le Mans Edition.

Renault 5 Turbo 2. Mmmmmmmmmmmm cloud9

AC Cobra.

1955 Chevy.

Jaguar E-Type.

Bugatti EB110.

BMW Z3 ///M. Just as Bburago were getting it right like with this model they folded..

Ferrari Testarossa.

Lamborghini Diablo.

Ford GT90 Concept.

1941 Willys Coupe. Bit of a joke this model I know but surely the ULTIMATE hot rod !!

Dodge Viper.

BMW M3.

BMW 850i

Audi A4 BTCC edition. Piloted by Frank Biela.

Ferrari F40 by Bburago. When this model was first released demand out-stripped supply and examples were changing hands for up to £200…bearing in mind that the normal retail price was just £12 !!

Porsche 911 GT (I think).

Jaguar XJ220.

Ferrari F50 by Bburago…one of the last models they produced.

Lamborghini Countach.

Ford RS200.

McLaren F1. THE finest motorcar ever produced. No arguments. cloud9

Dodge Viper GTS.

Porsche 911 (930 ?) roadster.

Mercedes-Benz Gullwing.

Alfa Romeo. Model unknown I’m afraid, but still very very nice.

Pontiac GTO.

DeLoren DMC12.

Which leads me onto nicely a few from TV and film…

1955 Chevy From 2 Lane Blacktop. This one is a VERY VERY rare model.

General Lee from The Dukes Of Hazzard.

Trans-Am from Smokey And The Bandit.

Lotus Esprit from James Bond : The Spy Who Loved Me. And yes it does turn into a submarine.

Ecto-1 from the Ghostbusters film.

Mustang Fastback GT from the film Bullitt. The best car chase ever recorded.

KITT from the TV series Knightrider. With moving flashing red light on the front.

The Batmobile. Still the best one in my honest opinion.

DeLoren from the Back To The Future films.

Aston Martin DB5 from James Bonds Goldfinger. Loaded with gadgets…

Back to the normal stuff...

TVR Speed 12.

Ford Escort RS1800 rallycar.

TVR Sagaris. lick

Lancia Delta Intergrale Evo 2.

BMW E60 M5 by Kaysho (sp?). Detail on this one is getting pretty good now..

Notice the real carpet inside…

Now this is where my little collection started. This car was originally red…

A change of colour (Miami Vice) and a fresh set of wheels bring it up to date…just.

BMW E30 M3 by Minichamps. Again quality here is pretty good.

BMW Z1 by Minichamps.

Ford Capri RS3100 by Minichamps.

Ford Escort mk1 Mexco by minichamps.

BMW 3.0L CSL Batmobile by Minichamps. This is where we start to get into the premier league with the detail…

Quality of decials, which is actually paint…

The underside…

Check out the wood on the dash and the textured seat…

Ford Capri RS3100 X-Pack by Minichamps. A very expensive model here in the UK, these are changing hands for upwards of £150 at the minute. Unless of corse you know where to get them for £29.99 The Batmobile’s only real threat…

So I’ve saved the best for last for you. Models by AutoArt. Check these out, quality is superb.

Lotus Esprit Turbo by AutoArt. This and the next few are their `budget` end of things and the quality is just superb.

Mitsubushi Lancer Evo 7 (I think). `budget`

BMW E46 M3 CSL. `budget`

Aston Martin DBR9 road vertion. `budget`

This is where AutoArt relly make you stop and look. This is their Millennium range...

Ford Serria RS Cosworth mk1.

Mercedes-Benz 190e Cosworth. Ayrton Senna edition. This is part of AutoArt’s millennium range. This is where the quality really is OUTSTANDING !!!! yikes

Porsche 911 (996) GT3.

Lamborghini Murcielago.

Audi Sport Quattro. Probably my favourite model of the lot. Again the quality here is in a different league.

I like the model so much, I bought it in both colours.

Audi Quattro (LWB).

Nissan Skyline R32 GTR.

Again, notice the REAL carpet and textured seats…

Notice the matalic paint on the millenimum range...

BMW E24 M6. Quite possibly the most gorgeous car ever produced. cloud9

6 cylinders, 286BHP and a gorgeous soundtrack…well, in the real thing anyway.

Warning triangle mounted on battery in boot…

Sorry M3John.

I too have been busy with work. Mate thats a huge collectionn there. I've never collected anything and when I got the green 73 911RS and then the 993RS it just kinda started from there. I've kept it to Porkers only and one day when I have all that there is to get I will start getting other Marques that have made their place known in Automobile history in one way or another ie: GT40, DeTomasa Pantera, Lancia Stratos, F40, RS200 etc.

Hay James no worries.

As i said that's not ALL the photo's of my collection, just the nicer one's or more interesting piccies. Hope you enjoyed them and wasn't boring you towards the end there hehe.

When i started out i honestly didn't sit there and say to myself `right then, i think i'll start a collection on....` and that's going back some years now to when i'd have been just into high school in the early 90's so i had to save hard for every model !. It's kinda funny how these `collections` evolve.
I also started `collecting` CD's at the same time, growning up and getting into music and all that...the CD cataloge now covers something like 1,500 plus albums and 1000 plus EP's and singles yikes. (Just as well it wasn't 18th scale models i suppose at 2000 plus as i'd physicly have no where to put them all  ). The other little collection i'm starting or starting to get into, deliberatly , is swiss watches. But these as you probably know are rather expensive and i'm currently increasing at roughly one a year, to the dismay of the girlfriend i might add !!!

You will, speaking from experiance here, find something else to fill the void of the Porsche's when that lovely collection of your's is complete. In a way it would have been nice for me to stick to one marque a bit like your self but, my love of all things petrol runs very deep in my veins and i couldn't just stop at say Ford's or Holden's.

Keep up the good work mate and be sure to post up with any new additions for us all to see thumbup

Cheers,
John.
