Anyone built one of these large kits? (Any photos)

I've done a fair bit of the 1/20 & 1/24 stuff but this looks a different ball game completely!

Yes, I built one in the 90's and it's a great kit. I'd been given a £200 rebate back from an honest solicitor (yes, really!) after a house purchase and I bought one.

Most of the main componants are actually screwed together so the kit contains not only these but a little tool kit too- plus many other metal parts and even fabric for the seat harness. The instuction manual is very comprehensive but easy to follow- it's actually a 32 page illustrated A4 booklet.

Couple of tips if you do get one:
The Marlboro Red bodywork colour is not applied via waterslide decals (like the 1:24 version) but has to be sprayed. The Tamiya aerosol you need is TS-36.

At the time this car was screaming around F1 circuits, the pc brigade hadn't banned tobacco advertising in that many countries. Alas, the transfers included in the kit are the alternative regalia- as shown here.

You can buy Marlboro alternatives. For example, I've just found this using Google:

Hope you can speak Dutch!

Edited to add- just found this:

Nice use of those alt transfers but I hope you weather yours better than this. In this scale, for example, you can replicate the yellow indicator marks the crew write on the tyres.

Incredible detail there.

I've seen a couple on eBay - looks like I'll be splashing out!

Thanks for the info.
