New to this forum, probably a oft repeated question so apologies etc.

Am just after a few tips on were to get a decently priced die cast 1:18/ 1:43model (under £50).

As the title suggests I am after a burgundy/dark red Porsche 911 Turbo (993). It must be dark red though!

Internet shops would be better but physical shop suggestions would be good too

I always remember seeing / wanting a Burgandy one of these, it was in Toymaster in Bury St Edmunds a few years ago for about £30 1:18 scale! I have many Porsche Models in the loft, but not a burgandy 993 Turbo!

I may go over to bury on Saturday, if I have a chance I'll see if they have one! Can't remember who made it....

It was a favourite from years of watching my Performance Car of the year video where it won....it looks so good in that colour

If you do one - would you be so kind as to let me know the details so I can track one down.

I believe UT models produced a dark metallic red 993 turbo in 1/18th scale, but these maybe fairly hard to get hold of. PMA also make some very nice 1/43rd scale 911 turbo's.

It was UT models the one I saw.

I just looked on ebay, I should have bought it when I saw it.....

Thanks Thomas,

That is just what I am after but certainly not able to afford that price! The black model looks very nice too...

I will make a note and investigate further and see if I can get something cheaper

Cheers!

I'm surprised as to how much they are, I had a quick look round the WWW but couldn't find any for sale apart from those two on Ebay!

It does look as though Minichamps do a 1:43 scale one in Red which you may find cheaper.... But obviously smaller....

Yes - try a Minichamps 1:43.

See Gmund Collection (08702020911), www.diecasts.biz or ww.johnsmodelcars.co.uk.

The model you are looking for is Minichamps code 430069208.

Hope this helps!!

Will have a look for the 1:43 scale but it's the 1:18 I would really like

My local OPC only seems to stock scale models of race cars or currently available models.

I think the cars available will be on the Porsche website...

UT do not make models anymore, they were bought up by Autoart. This means that the prices for the older UT models will continue to rise.

The 991 Turbo is actually a nice model. The code for the Burgundy (Arena Red) Turbo is UT 066070.

You would be surprised how many local hobby shops still have these models and don't know their worth to collectors.
