Was just wondering how many PH'ers have tried/have drifted there RC car?
i currently have my HPI pro 4 hara on a drift set up, but i hardly use it as every time i seem to use it, it breaks
i think drifting RC cars is an excellent way to learn to control the car, and i think its excellent fun too.

I also have a Pro4 which i did race and i drifted a TC3.
Heres the setup:
Take the prop shaft out (RWD)
Put a quick motor in (I use BRM 13X2)
A set of M1 T27s (Mine are slick/worn and work great!)
The hardest springs you've got
Both cars are FOR SALE due to loss of interest so if you want them......

IMO i think the 4WD sytem should be left as is, i think it makes the drifting more challenging and fun.

the RWD makes it more challenging in my eyes, it just spins on full throttle!

Yup, I've got a Yokomo Drift Spec Ae86.....

I've also got an ok Skyline shell for it...

(Total colour flip paint on both the silver and blue)

Great fun and personally I would say that 4wd is a must. Yes you can (With a huge amount of practice) drift a 2wd, but with a 4wd you can hold the drifts as long as you want to and learning takes no time at all. I would recomend getting some Yokomo drift tyres (single or twin ring) as they last much longer than people claim and drift far better than ABS pipe that some people use. they even do proper hard compound tyres with Y-pattern grip on them. Harder to drift and you battery wont last as long, but at higher speed they give the car some grip.
The only thing you really need is a very smooth clean car park.

I have a Losi xxx-s, its not a drift car but It does tend to get a bit of a drift round the corners......

Are there clubs set up for Drift competitions or is it just for fun?

I may be interested in a moded motor if you have more available, I'm currently running a 19T but looking to go for something quicker....
