Riva Rossi Trains

Does anyone on here know much about them, as I've recently been given about 15 model trains from 1973 which haven't even been out of their boxes.

Would love to find out more.

Rivarossi are an Italian manufacturer most famous here for their HO models of large U.S. locomotives like the famous "Big Boy" mallet engine. Their models, particularly from the era of those you have, had a reputation for unreliability, subsequently addressed but not fully resolved. Rivarossi went into liquidation a while a go but were recently bought and are now owned by Hornby, who are reintroducing the models (I guess with improved engineering).
