I search a Model Car of a Griffith or Chimaera, ideal in 1:18.

It is quite hard to find any model for these types. So the first question is has somebody ever seen a Griff or Chim model car?

If so, any idea of the size, brand or where to get it?

As my profile give away, I kind of like green.

Any ideas about a Chimaera?

Look at Amazon:
www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006GWM22/202-9036270-3417426

Finding a Tuscan is easy, but where can I find a Chimaera?

I have the orange Tuscan S in my model collection, along with a deep red Sagaris, and a few 1:43rd spark Tuscan Le Mans racing cars. Im currently waiting for a decent version of the tuscan mk2 to be released, and looking forward to adding the Cerbera to my collection when it's released. The orange Tuscan S is a fantastic model for the money, well worth every penny. (the Tuscan S is available from both Revell, and Jadi, Tuscan mk2 is currently available from sunstar).

The only one I could find was a Wade pottery model that they ran off as a ltd edition batch of 1000 -
Managed to find it on E-bay and had to have it.

Thanks zip.

But I am looking for something that looks a bit more ... realisitc. If it isn't 1:18 fair enough, but it should look quite good if I want to add it to my collaction.

Is it really possible that there is no scale model of a Chimaera?

@ whittaker52

When and even more important, who is going to release the Scale Cerbera?

______
I have something like this or that in mind.

I know exactly what you mean - I've trawled god knows how many sites/model shops trying to find one but to no avail. The wade one does look better in the flesh but as you say is certainly no scale model.
Just a shame really that all the big companies only see TVR as being the Tusc and Saggy. No mention at all of one of TVRs biggest selling models!

I believe its Jadi who are producing the 1/18th scale Cerbera (although Revell and Sunstar do seem to share casts, so it may be released by a few different brands but in a wide range of colours), and from what ive heard it wont be released till towards the end of the year.

The issue is that during Peter Wheeler's era the only company he gave the rights to reproduce the TVR models was SMTS - www.smtsmodels.demon.co.uk/images/Full_logo_blue.jpg They did 1:43 white metal models of the V8S, Griffith, Chimaera, Cerbra & Tuscan Rich...

Yes, it's the Hot Wheels TVR Speed 12.
I live in Bombay (India) - a place where there are very few British car fans like myself. Compared to German, Japanese and Italian cars not many British cars (real or scale models) make it to India. I had to ask my cousin who stays in New York to try and source one. Funny as it sounds, most of the shopkeepers in NY didn't even know what a TVR was.
My other 1:18 models are:
1957 Ford Thunderbird (Road Signature)
1969 Pontiac GTO (American Muscle)
1957 Jaguar XK-SS (Auto Art)

Apparently the Cerbera is also being made in 1:43 scale too, not sure when it's being released though. 'AJB Originals' also made 1:43ish Griffs and Chims, though not such good quality. The Promod Griff was originally made for the factory as a limited edition in green with a cetificate. They also made a limited run of 50 in yellow for ex-dealer Portfields with the 'TVR 1' reg plate. Thanks for the link BB, I didn't relise they were still making them, I'll have to order a silver and a black one. I wonder if they will provide the bare castings for spraying DIY?
