I see alot of people are into model making etc, but as an aside, i was wondering if anyone was into table top wargames, be it historical i.e. napoleonic right through to Games Workshop like myself? Might post some pics of what i have collected and painted later on ready for my battles in the far future (god i'm a geek)

i'll post some pics this evening. tbh i haven't actaully played any games yet, mainly cos i'm a really slow painter and dont want to play until my force is complete. but the rules are fairly simple, turn based and generally comprised of Movement, Shooting and Assaulting, with various special rules etc for certain events. Each army has there own specific rules and stat lines that determine how they fight.

www.games-workshop.co.uk gives more detail on the various systems and how it works.

I enjoy it mostly for the painting and modelling side of things, but definitley want to start gaming, and possibly get into tournaments.

Here's a few pics, a bit big i need to resize them really. The first three are examples of Space Marines, the last is a fantasy Chaos Lord.

edit to say that the second picture is a work in progress so alot of the detail is missing.

I used to really heavily in to GW a long time ago. I preferred the painting side rather than the actual gaming though. Haven't doen it for years. I think it's one of the reasons my eveys are shot.

maybe :-) we have a dedicated warehouse unit which is useful :-)))

quite a few good painters as well, I was a GD finalist some moons ago but dont paint much anymore.

Problem i find with the hobby is that most of the people taking part are complete and utter idiots and dont wash much

LOL @ shadytree

@ Rich indeed there are a large number of fools and stinky people, which really drags the hobby down, shame really as it's really good fun. I lean more towards the painting and modelling side of things, but ideally want to play too. Salisbury just sux for gaming groups.
