I either use the local one in Weston Super Mare or mail order from Sussex Model Centre (www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk )

A couple more are:

www.anticsonline.co.uk/

Where I am, the closest is the Wakefield Model Railway Centre. They have a pretty decent selection of non-railway stuff and it's family owned so they pretty much know their stuff.

I've used www.modelsport.co.uk and found them to be good, inasmuch as they have a good website, publish a telephone number that was manned by someone who appeared to know what they were talking about when I phoned to clarify something before I bought, and who delivered promptly with no fuss. No idea what their aftersales support is like as I haven't had need of it yet.

For R/C Cars in particular, we have 2 shops locally which are both very competitive on the pricing and recommended:

Models in Motion (Stevenage)
Time Tunnel Models (Stevenage)

I got my R/C car from these people, very helpful indeed! They also sponsored my school when we took part in formula-schools.
