Who has what?

I have a biggish collection of Burago models from the 80's and 90's and they're mainly Ferraris.

The 1:18 288 GTO is the best.

I used to collect Hot Wheels which were good but I wasn't keen on the American bias. They were heavy duty and well made though.

Mostly 1:43 here – nearly half of which are Ferraris. I also have a few 1:18 but they take up too much shelf space!

Ditto, I think I've about 15 Bburago models and a couple of interloping Mercs from other makes. Used to have a 1:10 HPI nitro R/C car , but it was stolen from the shed a year back . I loved that thing.

Got a few 1:18, favourites being a Tuscan S, 1969 Camaro SS, and the best of the lot (wedding present from the wife, cos it wasn't exactly cheap), a limited edition Ayrton Senna Lotus Renault 98T, in full JPS livery - not allowed tobacco decals on any produced now, apparently 'scale models' are classed as toys (?!?)

Around 140 1/43rd scale models. They're all displayed in 5 cabinets in our dining room! My stuff is mainly Le Mans and F1 with a few interesting road cars thrown in whereas Mrs Trackside's are nearly all Astons and Jags.

Regarding tobacco advertising, I've got 2 Silk Cut Jags and a Rothmans 962 with full cigarette livery. The XJRs are by IXO and the Porsche by Quartzo (I think). I was surprised when I bought them as I was led to believe that fag ads were a no-no on models.

About 50 1/18 cars, stopped collecting when I got my 1/1 car as that one takes up all of the toy budget. I might start collecting again one day though...

Rover SD1s, any scale, to keep the 1:1 Vitesse company. Slightly limited scope, but there are a few out there, and I'm always on the look out for more (if mint and boxed)!

I collect 1:43 and 1:18. Started by accident with the re-issued Dinkys nearly 20 years ago. Bought all 10 plus the Limited Edition bus. Planned to put them in the loft for the future. Then Dinky kept expanding the range. As a mildy obsessive-compulsive completist, I had to have them.... Then of course, I had them on display in my office so they became a 'gift idea' for friends and family. The collection grew.

A 3m long, 5 shelf glass cabinet was built for my office to house about 150 models (mostly 1:43 with a few 1:18 dotted amongst them). Even that isn't enough space, I have more at home.

I have a few themes. The Dinky collection (complete); 1:18 917Ks (Auto Art/UH); 1:18 Lola T70s (GMP); 1:18 Steve McQueen (Auto Art); TV models (all the original Gerry Anderson Dinkys); 1:43 Espadas/Marzals; 1:43/1:18 models of my own cars; 1:18 Exoto/CMC specials...

Pride of the collection though is a 1:8 Lola T70 Mk3B [Sid Taylor/Denny Hulme] by John Shinton. John also does Big Healeys and - latterly - the Lotus 62. See www.johnshintonmodels.co.uk/ My T70 is top left on the home page.

Hi there,
I'm usually looking in the TVR Chimaera site, as I'm a proud owner of said model (real one - not a scale model)
But I thought I would look into some of the other forums and stumbled upon this one.
I'm not sure if anyone can help me here, but here goes.
My Wifes late Father used to work in the Lesney factory years ago, and after he died in 1989 my Mother in law found no end of items that he had collected over the years. Stuff like old comics Beano Marvel Hotspur etc.......which she THREW OUT!
But amongst all of this was a box full of Matchbox sports cars in the 60's style ie Graham Hill era. The majority of which are still in their boxes and are pristine.
There are also some other cars which are a bit tatty, and a few which are coloured silver(inc wheels) which I think were made to sit on ashtrays or something, I think they are Rolls Royce Silver Shadows.
I'm trying to remember as much as I can but I haven't seen these models for a few years now as they are in her loft, but only last week she asked me if I could find out how much they might be worth as she wants to sell them.
So can anyone help me, or does anyone know of a web page that may have some details etc.
I dont just want to put them on ebay and see what happens - but then again if they're worthless then thats probably what will happen.
I can supply photo's if it helps.
Thanks.

Hey Boss - you might be interested in this, a peculiar and esoteric thing for Fujimi to have made a kit of.

Fecking loads. Mostly boring stuff in 1:43. A fair few in 1:18.
I remember trying to count all the 1:43 when i was about 13, i got to three hundred or so and got bored and that was almost halfway through the 3rd box of 5.

I tend to collect mainly 1/18th models from various manufacturers, and a bit of 1/43rd minichamps stuff too. Ive been collecting since the age of about 5 - 1988. My eldest brother has been collecting for about the same length of time, but has a serious collection of 1/18th models, mainly supercars and Le Mans cars.

I would say my most prized model is my Exoto 1/18th Standox Avus Galaxy green 1976 Porsche 935 Turbo, My 1/18th UT Harrods Mclaren F1 LM, or my latest purchase - 1/18th Minichamps Porsche 911 GT3 RS launch show car.

I wish i had more space to display my models! most are in the wardrobe, or packed away in the roof.

I also have a couple of RC cars - a HPI Micro RS4 in light metallic blue, and a Tamiya TA03-R Mercedes CLK GTR with tuned motor.

Started with Burago then went on to Autoart etc. Now concentrate on Carousel 1 (I've got a dozen or so of their Indy cars) and Exoto. CMC is another favourite - the 250F and 250GT SWB are probably the best I've seen for the price.

Basically collect 1/18 scale cars that Id love to own one day... my dream car garage in 1/18 scale... recently cut down though to make room for newer and better, more-higher-up-my-list models

-TVR Tuscan S and Sagaris
-recent Ferraris (Enzo, F430, Scag, 456)
-Lambo Murcielago (autoart, of course)... BMW M5... Maserati Quattroporte
and... a few in storage such as the 1/18 Supra by Kyosho...

so... its a bit of a mess in terms of a proper collection but... makes sense to me
