I'm having a little difficulty finding a part that looks like this:



Note the flared base. Base needs to be about 4mm diameter, and brass. All clues/links welcome please!

Oddly enough I was on the phone to them this afternoon! Those ones are rather too high and the wrong profile, but thanks for the thought.

R/C car idea is interesting but the bases are hexagonal I think.



If anyone has a small CNC lathe there's some beer money to be had - there will be other bits I'll need eventually.

That's right, I have a packet of those on my desk right now (4.5mm high) and they just don't look as good as the originals.

Although if you placed one in a drill chuck, ran the drill, and used a circular needle file, you could remove material to give the flare. Repeatability may be a problem though.

It's a bit like a locomotive handrail knob. I don't know what scale/gauge you'd need to look at though.
