Gift suggestions pls

Hi All,
My old man is very into Hornby style 00 guage and enjoys fabricating kit buildings & setting out his own layouts etc.
As a change of tack I was contemplating getting him a static steam engine display kit to build. I can see that there are some from several hundred to a couple thousand pounds! Can anybody recommend a starter kit, say <£150?
