Buoyed by actually managing to finish my Lotus Elan, Porsche GT3 and Land Rover I'm embarking on another homage to a member of the fleet.

This time it's one of these:

hopefully looking a little like this:

Wish me luck. biggrin

No luck needed, get building!

You'll find the AMT kit a historic relic compared to even the aged Elan kit, the 20+ year old 996 and the definitely quite new 110. Give it some love and a little slack!

Good luck!!

I’ve been building an AMT Lincoln Continental for what feels like years. I do a bit and get demoralised so stop for a while, then start again and get demoralised and so on and so on.

I also have one of their truck kits which looks so horrendous I can’t face even starting it.

I was sucked in by the cool box art biggrin

As predicted, the kit is a little rough'n'ready, with some poor fit and plenty of moulding marks - there's certainly a gulf between this and the Revell Land Rover in terms of quality.

I found the plastic pretty soft, and parts broke or bent easily (or I just don't have sufficient dexterity). There is also something of a contradiction in the quality with there being some nice detail moulded into the parts; I'm just not skillful enough to be able to highlight them well (the body badges and lettering, windscreen wipers etc.).

However, it's the only choice for a '66 Mustang at this scale, so I'm glad to have done it. biggrin

Nice!

I attempted a model of my Firebird. It turns out I'm no better at building model kits now than when I was a kid - too impatient!

You did very well!
I built these a long time ago, one some 30 years (the light blue one), the other about 20 years ago, the newer one made a virtue of the flawed kit as it was supposed to be a 'battered street driven old Mustang with lots of scars'.
