Pegasus 1/48 Hawker Hurricane I
Discussion
I started posting about this build in the "Christmas Build" thread but knowing my slowness at completing models, it will probably still be an ongoing project next Christmas.
I have therefore decided to give it a thread of its own.
I won't repeat what I said before but will post up the original pictures and where I am as of now. Today is my first day after my "Self Assessment Tax Return" deadline work has ended so I'm taking the day off and relaxing in my model shed.
I've never completed a 1/48 model aircraft kit and it has to be said that working in the bigger scale does have advantages.
This is where I am as of today.
The first picture shows the model after it has been primed, some seam lines filled and sanded, primer applied and then a "marble" effect added which, hopefully will add some tonal variation to the camouflage pattern.
I've also now painted in some red bits - the leading edge of the til fin (where the fin flash will be later) and the gun ports. I've painted the interior of the landing light and the navigation light housings Interior Green. As you can see from the pictures above, the light housings had to be cut out by me as the kit does not feature them.
