Airfix SAM Missile Set - Any Spares?
Discussion
All, back in the 70’s I built the Airfix SAM missile set. Long gone now, I’ve only got these fragments left. I would like another one, to go with the Airfix Bloodhound. As you may know, unbuilt, boxed kits are now expensive (c.£100) due I believe to the moulds being lost many years ago. Partially started kits, or incomplete kits obviously go for much less when they are available. With that in mind I wondered if anyone had any SAM bits or scrap models for sale that I could cobble together into a complete set?
Obviously I don’t need a box for this exercise. BTW Its only the Airfix version I’m interested in, not later offerings from other manufacturers.
Thanks, and Happy Christmas to everyone.

This reminds me of when companies rebuild an original GT40 from the door skin of a crashed original
Yep, or a Spitfire rebuilt to flying condition after being dug out a beach after 60 years…TBF I’m doing the same thing with my Airfix Bloodhound - some bits of original white plastic Land Rover in with the newer (poorer quality) green stuff.

I’ve got the box (type 4)but that’s probably not much help. It contains a locomotive at the moment.
I’ll have a poke around though, there might be some bits and pieces of ‘Guideline’ among the model railway stuff.
Thanks. I could have sworn I still had the cylindrical tank from - I think - the transporter, but alas no sign of it.I’ll have a poke around though, there might be some bits and pieces of ‘Guideline’ among the model railway stuff.

My curiosity piqued, there are some SA-2 sprues on eBay at the mo, which look like they might contain the tanks you’re looking for.
Thanks - that must have been posted yesterday. I'll keep looking - I'd rather pay a bit more for complete sprues, either partially started or not.
