Radio interference on buggy ESCs

Son and I built a couple of Tamiya and Kyosho buggies a few years ago. Fitted them with ESCs of various makes including Etronix Probe and Tamiyas own. We have two different makes of digital RC transmitters and receivers. Think mine is Carson. Not expensive kit.

We sometimes found that the cars would speed off or steering would twitch when we were close to the cars. I can't imagine there is an issue with outside interference given that the TX and RX are coded to one another.

Is it possible that when close to a model that the signal is too strong and causes issues? If so, do we just accept that or is there a solution?

What frequencies are the two sets of radio gear set to?

27 MHz but digital not analogue.

Common problem with 27mHz RC gear, when the transmitter aerial is close to the receiver.

Either keep the transmitter a few feet away from the car, or swap the radio gear for 2.4GHz sets

Opps. I am wrong. It will be 2.4GHz gear.

Might be worth checking if the esc is fitted with capacitors, even cheap ones these days should be to prevent this from happening, apart from that mounting the receiver furthest away as possible from the esc may help.

And an obvious one - check you haven’t moved the trim tabs on the transmitter.
