Not familiar with that brand. The one in the link is a nitro engine, is that what you are after?

If it were me, I’d be looking at an Arrma 3s Vorteks or Traxxas WideMaxx

Team Associated Rival MT10 100%

I have a vorteks, and the MT10. The MT10 is a lot more bashable plus it handles better and battery life is significantly longer.

I’ve got an old Hobao Hyper 7 Nitro buggy. Which is what the one you posted is similar too. It’s not a basher and being nitro it’ll be a pain in the arse to keep going and noisy limiting you on where you can play with it.

Nitro doesn't bother me, I quite like 'engines'.

what runtime do you get from it? maybe 'basher' is the wrong phrase, just something strong and robust.

20-30 mins off a 5000mah 3s lipo on the MT10 in comparison I’m lucky to get 10 mins out of a 5200mah 3s lipo on my Vorteks.

Plus the MT10 is a stout bugger which takes punishment like no other.

Plastic chassis > Alloy chassis.

I used my Hyper 7 for racing primarily it wasn’t a great basher.

But you do you if you are set on the Hobao thumbup

I wouldn't assume a metal chassis is necessarily stronger. They might be, but when they do bend, they stay bent. Modern plastics on the quality brands are are as good as, if not better than alloy and stand more chance of rebounding to their original shape. The Traxxas XMaxx, probably one of the toughest RCs out there is all plastic. Also, look at the cost and availability of replacement parts.

I've spent the past 3 days going round in circles(no pun!).

I got sort of hooked on the new hyper based on youtube! however there's so many options.

I don't know where you are located, but you might have a decent hobby shop near you. There are still some great ones about. If you have, it's well worth going to have a look. Can't beat actually seeing these things in the flesh and tempting you to buy something that you never previously considered for more money than you ever intended.

Be wary of YouTube reviews. They are nearly all reviewing stuff they've been gifted, so criticism tends to be gentle at best.

Team associated is an excellent brand with plenty of support and spares, it's who I would go for and used to race back in the day.

I'd also stay away from nitro, electric is just as fast and not a pain in the ass. With nitro you still have to charge batteries anyway!

Might be worth looking to see if you have any local RC car clubs and see what they are running. It's quite fun going racing!

I don’t know that part of the world very well, but Rochester RC and Redfin Models might be within a reasonable distance. There’s probably others.

so, curve ball........

Spotted a Arrma 6s BLX on Facebook market place, owned by another 40 odd year old. £375, boxed, instructions with batteries, charger etc. Just seemed to make sense. Should be with me tomorrow.

Are you getting all the gear with it? Batteries, charger etc? 6s is plenty fast. My mate has 6s and it’s shocking how fast it can go.

Yep that’s a proper bargain. My 3s Vorteks was around the price you are paying for that!

Come up to the Jadlam shop, Glastonbury. 1 hour from you…

We typically promote arrma for bashing, you’ve made a good choice.
