Hoping for some advice/guidance as I have no knowledge of R/C cars.

Bought a Nikko VaporizR in 2012 and, for whatever reason, never used it or even opened the box and came across it the other day when having a clear out.

It comes with a Ni-MH rechargeable cassette battery pack which I presume, due to age and non-use, is dead - for safety, I haven't tried to charge it.

Does anyone know where I could get a (well priced) replacement from?

Initial Google searches haven't proved fruitful.

TIA. thumbup

Can you post a pic? Is it a proprietary sort of thing or a generic NiMH pack.

It is sometimes possible to resurrect old NiMH packs, and they generally aren’t dangerous like damaged LiPos can be. You’d need a decent charger with control over the charge current to try to revive it though.

A website like Component Shop sell NiMH packs in all sorts of shapes and sizes so you might find one you can use. Swapping connectors is fairly easy if you have a soldering iron.

I would just try charging that one first if you haven’t already.

It’s a proprietary case, but is probably just 5 AA size cells inside. You could try and hack it open and replace the cells, but they’ll probably have welded tabs on the terminals.

Alternatively it probably wouldn’t be hard to modify the car the make something like this fit https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371374895811?mkcid=16&a...
