I don't make a lot of models, but the few I have end up gathering dust on an office shelf and then eventually broken due to over enthusiastic use of the feather duster by my Wife. Can anyone recommend some clear cases suitable for 1:24 car static kits that don't cost the earth? The ones I see seem to be very expensive for what amount to a few small sheets of plastic.

I keep all my models in little plastic vitrine boxes, I hate dusting things :-)
and specially long time ago I did not kept them in little boxes, I also lost small window wipers and or antennas or mirrors... grrr lol, but got rid of those and started a new collection, with better cars of later years and only in 1/43 scale.

so since then I kept new 1/43 cars in their vitrines, or I bought a lot of cheap vitrines to keep the cars dust free, then I placed those cars in a big glass vitrine, almost dust proof, so almost no need to dust them, or rarely maybe just a bit but then only the box, which is easy.

say like those, those are the cheapest for say 1/43 cars, 5 for 8.50 euro, so just 1.70 euro per box.

see all my ex cars in 1/43 show vitrine

and here 4 of my ex e36 Compacts all in the right color and using those cheap boxes, because I bought those 4 cars from a collector and came without showcase, so had to buy some (just a example, most of my cars were new and came with boxes, others hard to get and or still searching :-))

here the rest of the BMW's I've owned in the past, a small fraction of the cars in that showcase/vitrine, the rest are other brands

That’s an impressive collection! Those individual display cases are what I want, but for 1:24 scale. The trouble is they all seem way overpriced to me. If I could find some 2nd hand ones like you did, I’d be happy.

thanks, my showcases were all new, but some cars were second hand from collectors, because some were brought out long time ago or only say 300 examples so rare but sometimes they come back on the market again.

ans yes, I saw showcases for 1/24 are way more expensive, from 7.50 euro a piece here, but cheaper then ebay, there it begins with 11+ euro a piece.

Even with shipping to the uk, buying 3 or more is a good saving one EBay or Amazon.
