I've just picked up a team associated b6.1, to race at the local club.

I used to race Rc sailing multihulls. (Sailor at heart) but after rekindling my love of Rc cars getting my daughter a Tamiya tt02 at Christmas. I've got hooked on cars again.

Anyway, anyone got any tips on racing 2wd buggies? As I'm properly slow. biglaugh

Not had chance to fire up my commercial printer at work for the tiny Jagermeister stickers biglaugh

To replicate This.

I've given a pretty comprehensive rebuild. I'm a proper nerd once I get into something.

I've got a practice session tomorrow, I bowed out of the series event on Sunday. My first race meet will be on the 12th any tips welcome.

Here's my old series winning mini40 class cat

Used to race a long time back with RC’s. Would like to get back into it. But it seems a reasonable challenge. Nothing completely local and very niche on which classes are run at some clubs. Price of entry is high if they only race 4wd top end buggies too.

Glad you have somewhere to race 2wd though. Is it out side or indoor carpet? I always loved racing on proper grass tracks, but that too seems to have vanished mostly when I’ve looked about.

Congrats for getting into RC buggy racing!

2wd is by far the most popular class in terms of driver numbers, so you've made a good choice.

Where are you going to be racing and on what surface?

I've managed to amass far, far too many 1/10, 2wd racing buggies recently... and I haven't raced in years!

Keep promising myself to get back into it but the local club (Surrey & Hants) is the other end of the county from me, which is a bit of a chew with home commitments. Maybe need to see what's around South London.

Please keep the thread going OP, would be good to live vicariously through your adventures!

RCdecals on ebay sells an Alfa 155 Jagermeister sticker set in 1/10 scale. Ive got a few of their sets and the print quality is good although the vinyl is a bit thicker and glossier than the standard Tamiya type stickers but fine for a runner that will get scuffed.

I'm racing at TORCH, which is now based at swanmore collage. It's an outdoor astroturf Track.

Ha a good day practicing today. Although still well off the pace.

Fastest guy was 26.7 my best was a 33.8 so alot of work Todo. My car was too stiff to. The setup I used must be for a smother track. So a few tweaks hopefully I'll be faster.

I got back into RC a few years ago after a 30 year break. I got my 11 year old son racing an AE B6.1 at Slough, indoor on carpet, then bought a B6.2 for me in pretty short order (to go with the extensive vintage fleet I’ve acquired…). I’m dead slow, and my son’s other school clubs are getting in the way at the moment, but it’s brilliant fun and the other more experienced racers are a very friendly and accommodating bunch. I thoroughly recommend giving racing a go if you have a club nearby. I might give SHRCC a whirl this year if the timing works out.

TORCH is probably only an hour away from you if you're racing in slough. I think some of them also race at slough.

I'm definitely going to be racing. Just need to get some practice in. I'm too competitive for my own good. Was kinda hoping to be faster. But I realized this morning it's actually not to bad for a first time.

My daughter is Abit young still, she likes bashing her tt02 about. But as she gets older. I'll get her into it, be nice if we can both race together. I struggle to find common ground between Barbies and horses (my mother's doing) but recently she taken a real interest in racing and cars.

The catalyst was this seasons host of 'hot rod garage' Alex tailor. It's like she didn't believe girls were allowed to play with cars banghead

About a year ago I got into a bit of racing at my local track in Southend, but never get much time to go, maybe once every 5-6 weeks.

Started with an FTX Vantage that I already owned.

Then I got my old Schumacher Cougar 2000 out of the loft from when I was a teenager, rebuilt that, raced once & broke it frown

I then bought a Team Associated Pro4 SC10 as most people run short course trucks over winter.

I've still got a new RC10 B6.3 that I need to find the time to build, hopefully in the next couple of months.

Hopefully get my son into it when he gets a bit older (currently 5). But he is the reason I can't go this Thursday as he crashed my SC10 into a tree stump on the weekend rolleyes

I'm lazy I would have gone for a bastos livery but my painting skills are horrendous.

I think it's come out alright tho. Definitely should have done practice on the old shell biglaugh

My first session on Wednesday was pretty good I wasn't last. Second to last tho! It was incredibly hard racing. As the condensation was turning to ice off line.

Look at the control arms and shocks that's all ice spin

Last Wednesday nights efforts really happy with that I know it's only the b final. But managed to drive really clean and even did 2 overtakes on track.

It helped I went for full wets in the rear. in the last race, As it looked like the big boys were struggling for grip in the race before.

But apart from the first final I did well all night!
