Long shot but my 5yr old (and me!) has his heart set on this as he's currently obsessed with a) Lego and b) Scalextric so I've been trying to source the above set with limited success. Appreciate it is an older set now so used, most have issues or bits missing and new / unused seems an impossible find bar one seller who's reluctant to post.

So, anybody out there possibly have complete, working set they'd be willing to part with or have any knowledge on where I could find such a thing as thus far, nigh on constant searching hasn't really revealed anything suitable as yet.

I did debate just trying to source the cars only but again, the odd one or two available have bits missing and yes I know, plenty more bits will go missing in the hands of a 5yr old but that's not the point!

Thanks

Although I assume "I can't seem to clip the cars together" is code for the cars are completely shot...

Yup, I've looked at both of those but would agree, the fact the cars won't clip together strikes me as a bit odd and I'm probably not willing to take the risk and the second boxed set is delivery on the 28th, which I suppose is the nature of the beast given the ongoing postal strikes and general chaos out there just now!

Believe me, this has taken me down a rabbit hole into my past days of the Mk3 Escort "Night Stages" and the RS500 "Ford RS Cosworth" sets I got when I was a lad and then worshipped up until I hit that age where I figured the cars needed "modified" which seemed like a great idea at the time but now, in my 40's I look back with nostalgic rose tints on and think "You idiot"

That said, I have still got a box with my old track in it and a few cars... including an RS500 that I painted lurid yellow and changed the wheels on, lowered and such like. Also found a couple of old Volvo 850 SCX cars I had which have survived unmolested and after much deliberation, my 5y now plays with them and being fair, he's pretty good with them. But he's five and his "sensible" mode lasts about two laps then he finds more fun in creating spectacular crashes... and hence, here we are in search of the Demolition Derby set.

Its worth a look on Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree. Several Demolition Derbys around the UK on the former.

Scalextric also have their “Super Resistantl range of tougher, less detailed cars for the younger players:

Could be an option?

Might be worth contacting the seller, see if he'll send by courier for the requesite fee?

Or ask if you can send in a courier to pick it up.

Thanks gents.

Managed to get one 'locally' a few days ago, just the 140 mile round trip but as a dad of two under fives, a few hours so in the car on my own was utter bliss and probably needed ahead of the manic few days that lie ahead!

But I digress, cheers again.
