I'm working on my first model in 50 odd years, a 1:72 scale Airfix Spitfire.

There are gaps where I've glued the two halves of the fuselage together.

What is the best filler for this?

Thank you.

Tiny gaps which just need hiding or something more substantial?

There are so many choices but they all do the same thing (and annoyingly will go hard in the tube after a few years so don’t overbuy like me!)

For small gaps I like this cos it’s fine enough for even small miniature details:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Revell-Plasto-Putty-Model...

For heftier modelling stuff you can’t really go wrong with milliput smile

Thank you.

I probably will need filler for small and large gaps, but I'll start with the small.

I still use the old fashioned Humbrol filler.

I sometimes use the De Luxe filler - which is water soluble and therefore easy to smooth out with a damp finger or cotton bud. It works best for very small gaps. For bigger gaps I stick with Humbrol.

Consider making some Sprue Goo. Half a bottle of Tamiya Extra Thin + chopped up spare modelling sprue. There are quite a few videos on it. You can customise how thick or thin you want it. It can take some time to dry though, and may need several applications.
