I have a number of aircraft models that I made in the 70s but I gave up making models many years ago when a couple of planes I attempted came out as right messes (Airfix large Tiger Moth and Frog Dragon Rapide - great pity as they could have looked really good).
I suppose the old models will now go in the bin as we're having a clear out, but I also have about 20-30 unmade kits from the 70s. Mainly Airfix planes in bag and box. Couple of later Bburago Porsche kits never opened as well.
What can I do with them? I've had a look on Ebay and there seem to be hundreds for sale and I don't know if they go or not. Can these things be auctioned or even given to a model club if there are any?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Find your local model club, they will probably help you out or ATC/Cadets, I’m sure they would welcome them.

Very worthy. I have sent as few old / unwanted kits their way.

Agreed atc or similar will be happy for the aircraft models. Suspect they won't be very interested in the bburago though, but I might be, by all means drop me a message.

I expect the "large Tiger Moth" you refer to was the 1/32 Matchbox kit and the 1/72 DH89 Dragon Rapide was Heller (later re-released by Airfix).

I might be interested in the unmade Airfix kits. Not specifically for me but my local model club (of which I'm chairman) makes regular kit donations to the "Models for Heroes" charity. This is a charity that uses model building as a form of therapy for UK military veterans who are struggling with life after leaving teh forces.
It's a very worthwhile cause.

Thanks to all - I've sent messages to Models for Heroes and the local ATC.
