Hi all

I’ve just ordered the CMR 1/18 Ecuire Ecosse car transporter and looking for a D type and c type model to join this.

I see CMR also do a d type but wondered if the model is good or not, also wondered if anyone does a decent model of a C type jag?

Also a recommendation for a decent model of a cobra would be good too

Thanks in advance smile

I can’t comment on the C or D in terms of CMR quality but I bought their Ferrari 156 ‘Sharknose’ last year.

The quality is nowhere near Minichamps (to take a good midrange) but then again the price is nowhere near either!
I would put quality somewhere around BBurago / Maisto although with less use of plastics. The shape is good but it sits a little high.

The things is I really like the model, I’d never have shelled out for a CMC and I’m definitely going to get some more CMR (their 962 & 917).
Given what good value it is I think there is considerable scope to add details yourself, if it all goes wrong it’s not a disaster and if it goes well then you have a slightly unique personalised model. I started with adding the quite distinctive brake piping to the 156.

Hope this helps.

Autoart also made C and D types, pricey but really nice models

Exactly although my plan was one c and one d. What makes are your c types?

I’ll have a look at the autoart, I guess the difficulty with the CMR ones is seeing it in the flesh. If anyone has some close up shots that would be great

Thanks for all the answers so far, it’s been really helpful

Going to Goodwood members meeting this weekend just got a lot more expensive lol

I like the way they've made the profile look like a D-Type, or possibly a Bluebird.

I think the inspiration was a fish tail.

I'm going to be a miserable pedant and point out that the Commer never carried C-Types in period.

That’s okay, it will probably end up with a lightweight etype on it as well, going rogue smile

Had a good look yesterday.

They are CMR. They’re good! Obviously there are ‘better’ but as you allude to they’re substantially more!

I can't comment on the CMR but I do have the CMC.
Like most of their models it's an absolute Gem! I can justify the cost as they tend to appreciate so I look at them as money in the bank (t's what I tell the wife anyway!)

If you want to REALLY blow it out the water get an Exoto version! These trade hands for £2-3k nowadays!
I paid about £800, so see what I mean about appreciation!

I only have the test version but they do others. The detail is mouth watering!

Wow that is something special, I’m on the hunt on eBay for an autoart one but the blue ones do seem to go for a lot more than the green ones
