Hi all

Got given this box of bits about 10 years ago from random uncle of wife, is it worth anything at all?

We have no sentimental value, I’ve hung onto it but only have daughter’s so I confident it will go in the skip when I die

I can see the controller is a couple of quid on eBay, but probably fit for bin as I don’t know it’s history re safety

That looks like some of it is the Hornby Triang Battlespace range - the ambulance coach looks like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363677808882?epid=60114...

Whether it's worth anything will probably depend on how much effort you want to put into listing it & offering it around. I would definitely only sell the controller as "spares or repair" only

As above for the controller, we had one just like that. It went in the bin somewhere around 1972, its last use was heating a wire to cut shapes out of polystyrene (without my parents knowledge).

Train didn't go too well if you connected it to the AC.

Cheers both, the controller working sells for around £7, so simply not worth my effort

Will re evaluate the carriages, 30 odd quid is not to be sniffed at

Will drop the rest into a local train collector fella in our village

My local "crafts and antiques / tat" centre has various stalls with second-hand model railway stuff on, and carriages tend to be between £4 and £8 depending on condition, or more if boxed. Wagons maybe £3-£5, yours probably towards the higher end. Loco, if working, maybe £15 though it's difficult to tell without seeing it.

Unless you're close to me, in which case no, the entire lot is worth no more than a tenner, when do you want me to pick it up? smile

Might be worth trying Hattons. They trade in second hand stuff.
