Every year I buy my son (though he doesn't get any of the models and they are on a shelf - I plan to give them all to him when he is old enough to appreciate them without smashing them up) a Scalextric rally car with his age as the number on the car.

Year 1 - Audi Quatro
Year 2 - Ford RS200
Year 3 - Subaru Impreza
Year 4 - Lancia Stratos
Year 5 - Ford Foucs WRC

He is coming up to 6 in January and thus I have started the yearly search for what car to get next - I am struggling this year to find any rally cars with 6 on the side made by Scalextric and so wondered if there is a back catalogue of cars produced that could aid my searching?

And as I do every year, I find really good ones for 5 and 7, but the game is to only buy at the point of his birthday so it would be cheating to retrospectively change the previous years or buy in advance.

Any ideas from the PH mind hive?

It doesn't have to be new but does have to be in a decent box if second-hand.

I did think of pivoting to touring cars, but I have set my stall and going to keep going with the rally theme, especially as I do not have some iconic cars yet: Metro 6R4, 205, Delta, Rothman's escort, Celica

Thanks for the links though smile

Can you not buy the car you fancy and get some suitable stickers to change the numbers?

I have somehow 6 years later made it into a game/challenge and deem that to be cheating rofl

Solberg Subaru any good? Says 'new in box', from Spain might make it expensive.

I know, hard customer to please here rofl

I do like that Ford Escort, but I have my eye set on the number 10 Rothman's livery one here for a few years time - https://www.propshophobbies.com/product_p/ssrc3749... - plus it is SCX, so bending the rules a little.

Think I will put this one in the backup category if I can't solve, along with this other SCX I found - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304171918077?epid=23063...

I'd buy that Escort when you see it if i were you and stash it away, The Rothmans one, its very collectable and is only going up in price! We have one here signed by Dave Richards, but i probably cant sell it!

Otherwise from Scalextric you may be a bit stuck, there's an old RS200 numbered 6 as well, but not much else and we don't really do much rally these days, its a tougher sell to our consumers then other forms of motorsport. There's a lovely Marlboro M3 rally car by someone else available though....

The best i could find is the Lancia delta but its teamslot
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304067320230?hash=item4...

They do 7 and 8 in scalextric lancia delta so you may want them and look for another no 6 or this as number 7
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174920065897?hash=item2...
They do a lancia stratos no 6 , but you already have one of them.

If you wanted to spend a bit more go

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403108844224?epid=13705... for your no 6 and change your focus no5 to
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174882119280?hash=item2...

Can get the focus cheaper hete?

Thanks tedblog, some good finds there and definitely explore those - though have found this and very tempted to hit the 6 & 7 in one go and just accept two quattros.
