American Civil War Lead Soldier Models - any info ?
Discussion
A friend of mine is down-sizing house and moving on. He is debating whether to sell his ACW collection of memorabilia, including scale soldier models. He has about 100 in one particular cabinet - half of them or thereabouts are "Conte" figures made in China some 20 years ago - they are well made and seemingly quite collectable but clearly not of any great value.
The other half of the models seem to be more authentic lead-cast models that he picked up during a trip to the USA back in the 1980's. Some are marked A/R to the base with a 2 digit serial number generally prefixed 'C'. Here is a photo, can anyone give me an idea re the manufacturer ? He seems to think they were pretty expensive when he picked them up.

$30 seems enough for a toy soldier to me... https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/Conte-Toy-Soldiers/2631/b...
I'd start by typing the full "a/r c__" number into google to see if anything comes up.
