Has anyone got any suggestions where I might get a replacement roundel for the Revell 1/72 Hawker Hunter? It's the first aircraft kit I've built since I was a kid (probably 25 years!)and I'm a bit rusty- managed to break the first upper side wing roundel sliding it off the backing frown

I've dropped Revell an email but with everything going on at the moment I thought if might be a long time before I get any joy down that route. I didn't know if there was anywhere else worth trying?

Thanks in advance - picture of the model so far

Happens to us all....what's the OD of the one you need? I'm sure between us we've got what you need in our global spares stash and could probably post quicker than Revell can respond!

Cheers!

What do you mean by OD? Or is that a typo of ID?! hehe

Problem will be matching the colours. I’d wait for Revell to respond - it’s too nice a model to risk a mis-match.

You could try joining a few model forums, or FB groups and ask for a spare set there. Have you tried messaging Revell on FB?

Facebook is a good shout, cheers. I've just noticed they have actually responded to my email (it went to junk)... to say that they are very busy and would respond in due course...

I'll have a look on their FB page tomorrow.

OD = Outside Diameter

If you're measuring a tube or pipe, ID = Inside Diameter (as well as IDentification)

Thanks Eric, I'm pleased how its turned out for the first one after all these years. Ive got the V-bomber collection in 1/72 sat waiting to build, but wanted a simpler model to do first.

A bit of an update- received an email from someone at Revell informing me that my request is now being processed by their overseas build department, so fingers crossed.

In the meantime I have made a decent start on the Airfix 1/72 Victor B.mk2. It's big!

Very kind offer, thank you! thumbup

I'd hate to deprive your kit of one of the fundamental decals though (upper-surface wing roundel), else you'll be in the same boat should you come to build it at some point!

I'm happy to hold out and see if Revell come up with the goods smile

Missed today’s post pick up.

I’m guessing it should be with you on Saturday.

Rob you're a star, much appreciated! bow

I've properly caught the bug again after doing this model so will make sure I get some pictures up of future builds.

Today I've had replacement decals through from Hannants for my almost finished 1980s Academy SR-71 (the 30yr old originals were unusable) so I'm going to get that finished off shortly.

Got them this evening Rob, many thanks again. Let me know if you want anything for them.

Must have come in today's post- being an accountant in January meant it was a late finish!

I'll put some pictures up when it's all finished off- hopefully another week and I can get back to model building.
