Would like to get an airbrush . . . for me for simple AFV builds (Tamiya, if I go back to my childhood!), but also for my ten year old for artwork. He's into 'street art' but I'd rather let him loose indoors on paper rather than outside on buildings.

Any suggestions?

Thanks . . . .

I think it’s probably fair to say that the past 400 or so threads on this subject can be summarised as that there are two views on this:

1) Buy something generic and cheap from Amazon, hope for the best, but accept it may be terrible.

or

2) Buy something much more expensive from a specialist supplier and increase your chance of success, but accept that airbrushing takes practice and is not necessarily a quick and easy thing to do even with quality equipment.

Choice is yours. Good luck.

The cheap airbrush compressors on Ebay etc are pretty decent. Get one with a tank, pressure gauge and moisture trap.

The Harder & Steenbeck Evolution Solo airbrush can be got for £100 or so. I haven't used one, but H&S have a pretty strong reputation. Personally I use a cheap Chinese knockoff, but that's more down to not being able to justify something better than anything else.
