This popped up on my FB page this morning. Should I put it on my Christmas list?

At that price isn't it too good to be true ?

That looks fishy to me, questionable use of the English language in the advert and a kit of that complexity marketing for £25, I don’t think so.

The “V4 “ engine must be a very narrow angle V, looks inline to me. Unusually no sign of any branding in the advert ?

I’d steer clear until someone validates it, but I’ll be right behind you in the queue if it proves to be kosher...

A quick Internet trawl.

It looks like a Seclie product which retails for £470 on Amazon.

eBay is awash with “genuine” RS 2000s with a “Buy it Now” of £5000 or similar, I’m afraid this is a scam from the same playlist - an attractive product at a super-low price.

Haynes do cheap versions but they’re not a patch on this...

Yes, I'd already worked out it was from a Chinese source, like the Seclie / Zuji / ColiCor / Poxl versions sold on Amazon. At the advertised price it's almost worth a gamble. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

can't remember where I saw it - but there was a thread (possibly on PH) which showed how this scam worked - basically, at that low price you get something cheap and plastic not the metal engine you think you are getting...

Yes it was on here. When you scrolled through the photos there was a picture of the small crappy plastic 4 cylinder thing you actually receive.

The other scam is they send you some piece of worthless tat, but by doing so they have the documentation to say they disptached something.

A number of people got caught with this scam on Facebook. They thought they were buying an Ice Maker for a very good (too good to be true really) price. They were sent a plastic ring worth pennies. Most are struggling to get their money back, and that's with using PayPal.

When will people realise to avoid crappy too good to be true sponsored facebook sale posts.
Remember the all metal 1/16 RC tanks for about 50 quid?
People just disengage their brains when they think they are getting a bargain.

Note the link is now dead. It's been replaced by another at $30: https://leyi-case.com/product/ODg3NzM

And the real thing is here at £300: https://www.moyustore.com/collections/teching-asse...

Opened and looked at here, then built later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggBXgirr7x4&li...

I am a big fan of the New Revell e-type thats coming out very soon.

We grabbed a test shot kit and built it up for our blog and it currently sits on my desk!

Here is the build on our blog and also a couple snaps from my desk this morning.
