I've built a few Lego sets over the last three or four years and really enjoyed them, i now have a hankering to build some tanks, not fish tanks, WW2 type tanks, now as we know Lego refuse to produce any and i'm not going to waste a shed load of time and money buying MOC plans and loads of proper Lego bits to build one, so my question really is, has anybody built any of the cheaper Amazon available tank sets? Are they remotely realistic, or just kids stuff? There seems to be some from Cobi which are "ok" and a couple of others which look pretty good, does anybody on here have any advice?

I've got quite a few of the Cobi car models, and the quality of the materials, instructions, packaging is just as good as Lego, I would say.

I don't have any of the tanks or military stuff, but I can't imagine that the quality will be any different to the models that I do have.

My son has a few of the Kobi tank sets. They're great models but the narrow tracked versions (Pkw III / IV) etc have very fragile tracks. The wider tracks as found on the T34 and Panther / Tiger are much more resilient.

They're better for playing on the carpet with! hehe

yikes Are you insinuating that a fat bald 50 year old bloke is going to roll around on the floor making "Bbbrrrrmmm" and " BBOOOOMMM!!!" noises???

I have a table for that!!!

Thanks for the feedback chaps, good to hear that they're not complete tosh, it's more the fact i fancy building a tank as opposed to more cars/bikes!!

Sorry but only just saw this, I’ve not long built their Churchill (ordered direct from Poland as none in UK apart from a ridiculous priced one on eBay)

Was a good build, instructions are a bit vague in places and it is quite fragile in the track department for fat bald 52 year old carpet tank battles, as are my knees

Will take some pics for you

No tanks. We have a few Cobi sets. Concorde is excellent.

I didn’t know they did that Concorde, looks good and I’m now £40 worse off than 15 mins ago :-)
