Team X-ray GT8 1/8 Touring Car build
Discussion
Interesting thread - Not to hijack, but add to the conversation...
I took an interest in RC around 10 years ago, after building/running some Tamiyas (TT-01, TRF-416?) ..... I decided to upgrade to an Xray touring chassis, I bought some of their tools too (HUDY).
The build quality was insane, sure they are expensive but from what I remember everything was well machined.
When I took it to an indoor circuit I couldn't help but feel from others there was a stigma around the brand. Everyone else had schumachers and the gist I got was Xray's were overpriced and 'snobby' - I thought the attention to detail was excellent myself.
Does such a stigma exist around the Xray brand? - Maybe it was in my head, this was 10 years ago.
Hmm I'm tempted to get back into the scene - look forward to the updates OP!

Rest of the photos from today’s few hours build.
Sadly I realised I had used a black plastic tube on the shock shaft seal which was the wrong item, it should have been white nylon, so had to tear all four shocks down, fortunately I didn’t have to remove the shaft and piston and the fore the shock oil, but it was a real PITA.
I cursed myself many times for not looking more closely at the Manual!

Spent an hour at lunchtime finishing it off.
It’s 99.5% complete now.
I had to remove the Carburettor on the NovaRossi engine, and turn it through 180 degrees so the throttle valve was on the correct side, that was quite nerve racking!!
I do love the look of my Alloy GT Wheels with the Sticky Slicks on them too!!
