I keep looking at these... I don't need another pan car I don't use!
MUST finish my actual 1:1 car project and then get everything RC already in pieces or boxes finished!

Not terrible for something cool and Kyosho... But I'm more your Hobby King sale kinda brushless motor aficionado!
I'm sure I have a 3.5T or 4.0T ready for my 1/10th pan car that I got brand new for £10 or something!
I think it's even a good make. Need to dig it out!
Your threads do inspire me to get on with these things but the list is long!

This was the very picture of the original car I remember.
I’m pretty sure it was in a Kyosho RC Model Catalog we had back in the day.
It’s amazing to think it’s being rereleased after almost 40 years.
And I understand vintage, ie new models of old kits is a big thing on the racing scene now.
It will be all the old boys like me reliving their youth!,

Those motors bring back Optima memories - superb!
They do indeed. We loved our Kyosho Turbo Optima Mids back in the day, I reckon we got more use out of those models than anything else.
Sadly mine was looking very used and abused, and got thrown in the skip at our last house move over 15 years ago.
Stupid now when you look back, but didn’t think they would become so collectible.
Ah well hindsight and all that!

What’s the idea of chain drive over belt driven? Surely it’s a lot noisier and harder wearing of the components?
I’m not sure, I thought the same too.I wonder if the chain drive system was created before belt and shaft drive models were designed?
Remember the original model was released in 1983, I think let me check that date to be sure.
Anyway I’m sure the reason it’s chain driven is because it is a vintage rerelease, so they try to stay as faithful to the original design as possible.
It’s just stuff like the motors and speed controllers that get the modern treatment.
