I’m building a Tamiya Cromwell Mk1V and seem to have hid a snag.

I’ve done the bottom section and on coming to put the tracks on they seem tighter than I would have expected.

The box pic and models that other people have built the top of the tracks has a lot more slack.

I’ve put up a picture if anyone can see what I’ve done wrong if in fact I have.

Rubber tracks wont sag. Just glue them to the tops of the wheels and wedge something in the top till they dry. Superglue is probably your best bet.

I hate vinyl tracks. Even if they are glued down, they have a habit of breaking off the axles as they try and spring back straight.

If possible, I buy kits that come with individual plastic track links, or buy an aftermarket set.

Just glue them they will be fine. Let the glue set properly and maybe heat gently with a hairdryer.

Thanks.

I’ll probably try gluing them as I’m just getting back into modelling and learn from this.

I don’t know why (unless it’s cost) they make the tracks so tight. Could be worse though have a go at an old Airfix Panther...

Struggling with Airfix tank tracks dictated a life-long preference for soft-skinned wheeled military vehicles over anything with tracks. Have to concede not really Airfix's fault as I was trying to stretch tracks over wheels that I hadn't given proper time to glue in place....that and losing so many tiny Churchill wheels to the carpet monster...
But superglue on the road wheel nearest the hull and card/paper wedges to promote droop works, just be patient for glue-setting...like I never was!

What about some black cotton or polymer thread an sort of stitch them to the road wheel centre, crap description but hopefully you’ll get what I mean

Bit of superglue on top of the first and last roadwheel then held the track down with clamps.

Only trouble is one of the tracks has subsequently split eek so i might have to replace them with individual links after all.
