I’ve found I need more illumination even with a pair of led magnifying glasses.

At present I’ve nicked my wife’s craft light but I grudge forking out 90 quid on one for myself.

What do other people use?

When I want plenty of light close-up, I have one of these:

(You will need an 18650 battery + charger, or that site sell micro-usb rechargable ones - you lose mAh capacity for that feature, though).

The high CRI is especially useful with paint work - it picks out flaws like you wouldn't believe (and I'd often rather it didn't! wink )

Could you just buy a daylight bulb and screw into a normal posable lamp?
