Quick painting question

I've just started assembling and painting my car and need a bit of advice.

I'm going to rattle can the body including the underside.

The underside has several pieces which are part of the moulding, wheel arches, petrol tank etc that are black.

Can I spray the entire underside the bright topcoat and then just brush paint the details black over the top or would it be necessary to mask off?

Well the answer is you can do either but you’ll get a better finish spraying.

I’d be tempted to do the black underside bits first by spray, and then mask those off to spray the rest. I think it would be easier correcting any overspray that way.
