Hello
Recently purchased a FTX Torro nitro car for my son (and me). It has had around 10 tanks of fuel run through it. It has recently starting cutting out when running and then can be difficult to start up again. Could this be due to running to rich? Tends to cut out after a burst of full throttle.
Any help would be appreciated

If your top end needle is too lean, the engine won’t receive enough fuel at WOT. Try richening up your top end. You should have a nice smooth power delivery (without it choking up or being hesitant) and a nice plume Of smoke. Worst comes to worst, put the engine back to stock settings and start again

Just make a note of the current settings before you alter them
If you pinch the fuel pipe going in the engine should rev slightly and then cut out

There’s good advice in the manual that came with your car re setting the carburettor up for optimum performance.

https://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/product/FTX5542O...

Also I have been guilty of getting a bunch of people to buy a bargain engine on the frivolous purchase thread.

There is a great section in that manual which refers to setting your engine dependent upon weather / atmospheric conditions.

I will find that section for you.

Thanks. Engine is still at the stock settings temperature is a lot warmer than last time it was used. Will try leaning out the high speed setting.
