GrassHopper Battery Packs
Discussion
So thanks to the lock down I've tried to recommission my Grass Hopper that i built 5 years ago. All going well until I charged the battery packs. They lasted about 30 seconds and gave up the ghost.
Looking to order a cpl of replacements but to be honest i'm struggling. When i bought the kit, the nice guy at the model shop just threw 4 at me and a quick charger. What do i need to order now ? the packs say 1800nimh on, but strugglnig to find any ? All seem to be higher rated ?
elp !

Have a look here for a few options, Jadlam is run by a PHer.

The nimh (nickel-metal hydride) is the chemical type of the battery - very common.
The 1800 will be mAh - milliamp hours, a measure of how much energy is in the battery. 1800 is quite low; many much higher capacity packs available (higher = car runs for longer).
You've left out the voltage, but I'd be surprised if it's not 7.2v (6 cells in the pack).
So you need to order a 7.2v (probably) NiMH battery, in whatever capacity you feel like paying for (as well as car runs longer, higher = more expensive ).
