Any recommendations for a friendly Tamiya r/c forum?

I've just been clearing my workshop out. Plenty of stuff not touched in 9yrs...but my old Lancia Delta 1/10 r/c car took the boys' interest. It's an old one, on a TA01 chassis.

Tyres are shot (new ones ordered). As are the batteries I think (one ran but the batteries bulged. The other two batteries lasted a few mins only), so will be ordering some of these.

Also found an HPI Subaru body shell unused and fancy painting it up as the Lancia is now quite battered (from previous use, being sat and squashed etc). But this looks too wide for the TA01 standard track so keen to find out how to widen it. (Probably cheaper in the long run to buy a new chassis, but hate throwing stuff away).

Could be tempted to get some new suspension for it.

Is anyone has ideas on any of the above, am all ears smile

Google TA01 spares and warn your credit card company.
Wheelspin models is the first result.
But remember you may spend more on spares for an out of date old chassis, than a nice new Tamiya chassis that will be so much better.

IIRC you used to be able to buy wheel hexes with more offset to space the wheels out to meet a 190mm shell (no idea why Tamiya persisted with the 185mm?)

Tamiya shells are expensive compared to everyone else but are very detailed

Thanks guys.

Looks like investing in some new battery packs and an up to date charger would be wise (I have a couple of tanks in the same pile that will need sprucing up).

From there, maybe some different wheels/hexes. Will get the tape measure out and see if I can figure it out smile
