Remote control unit-can I use any type? (electric car)
Discussion
I had no idea which forum to put this in, so apologies.
Kids have a sit in Land Rover Defender electric car. It also came with a remote control, so an adult can "drive" it for them.
I have lost the remote control, which is a nightmare, so I need a replacement.
Is it possible to buy any 2.7GHz radio control, and "tune" it in, or does it need to be the exact replacement
Thanks!

Do you mean 27MHz, or 2.4GHz?
27MHz is analogue, so AFAIK any transmitter should work - as long as it is on the same channel as the receiver in the car (same colour crystal).
2.4GHz is digital, and there are several different standards used - the big name brands each do it their own way, with clones available from the Chinese brands.
