hopefully will soon be getting a Fleetscale 1/128 kit of HMS Dido.
They appear to do a full set of parts guns, doors etc,but for some reason they do not supply any bridge 'furniture'
As the bridge is open this would look a bit bare and as it will be a static model i would like to get as much detail as possible on it

Here is a picture of the bridge which on the model is 52mm from edge to edge lh side just out of picture

The binnacle and compass in the centre of the bridge are about 4ft high or .375in /9.52mm on the model
My question is apart from printing these items as stand alone Looking at the front wal and side of the bridge could that amount of detail be done boxes, voice tubes etc I would imagine that the walls would be better done as a complete unit for each side
I intend visiting HMS Belfast and HMS Cavalier to take pictures of as much kit as possible
Also are there any programs available . I have Autocad 2007 and will be learning fusion 360

Any comments appreciated

At that scale I’d try to model everything separately and build it up - fiddly, but easier to paint, and it’ll always look more realistic than raised details.

You might be able to built some parts easily using standard modelling materials.

Fusion360 at home (son got an educational license), Creo at work. I do find it very difficult to switch between them.

In which case go ahead and model details into the panels. With careful painting, a dark wash and some dry brushing you'll still get a great effect.

I think with this kind of thing, experiment and see what looks best. It could be that aligning dozens of tiny parts proves too tricky to get perfect, but obvisuly printed-in detsil will be perfectly aligned to start with; just would probably need
more careful painting and highlighting.

I intended to get an Elegoo Mars Pro for Christmas - I want to build a Revell 1/8 E-Type but with a decent engine and all the trimmings. Unfortunately the printers weren’t available until March, and since then production stopped completely because they were in China.

I’ve FDM’d some cylinder tooling for my paper Bismarck ship (which worked well), and a colleague resin printed some accurate bombs (I’m getting to grips with Fusion 360 now) for an ancient 1:72 Airfix Bulldog I built recently:

So I’m still waiting really.
