Tamiya Beetle Spares (steering knuckle)
Discussion
I've managed to resurrect my old Monster Beetle, which I built with my Dad about 30 years ago but rather daftly have immediately broken it after a small impact whilst mucking about with my lad. Any pointers to find a replacement would be hugely appreciated, I have tried many suppliers but it would seem it's out of stock everywhere, including Germany.
TAMIYA Blackfoot/Monster Beetle/Mud Blaster, 0115048/9115026/19115434 K Parts
SKU: Tam9115434
Happy to upgrade if the correct animal exists but I really am struggling!
Cheers,
Ash

No problem chap, keep on trucking...
just as an aside, i built my boy a Tamiya neo-fighter kit which is based on a modern chassis (D-02?).
the abuse that it takes is amazing...at the weekend it ran it flat out into a metal pole which was not great but no damage at all. Just an idea if you fancy a newer buggy to take the knocks.
Cheers!

Are Rico still the British distributors of Tamiya?
Back in the '80's you'd get a little paper booklet from them and could buy direct if your local model shop hadn't got the parts bag in.
yes I remember them, used to get a leaflet through the post every couple of months Back in the '80's you'd get a little paper booklet from them and could buy direct if your local model shop hadn't got the parts bag in.
They're not around any more though, they went a few years back, think they were part of the same group as Beatties model shops.
the distributor is The Hobby Company now, they bring is Italeri and Zvezda model kits among others. They still do the spare parts sets for Tamiya RC cars. Have to buy the whole sprue the part was on though.

I remember sending off for parts with a postal order! How long ago. They're not around any more though, they went a few years back, think they were part of the same group as Beatties model shops.
Only got the one car left in the attic still in its box, Porsche 959, IIRC it has the Rico or Riko sticker on the box.

The 959 is a classic. How’s the condition? These usually suffer from broken suspension arms and they’re properly hard to get hold of.Only got the one car left in the attic still in its box, Porsche 959, IIRC it has the Rico or Riko sticker on the box.
And it was Riko from memory

Yep it is although to the above post it is Racing and not Rothmans, (think they got rid of Rothmans quite quickly) condition is excellent, car, box, manual, few spares, techniplus radio gear etc.And it was Riko from memory
Rear wishbones have gone over time but I did use it about 10 years ago and replaced a set. Body is a bit beaten up(one piece still) but weren't they all?
I have never seen a re release, if they did them. Still kick myself I sold my others of the time, Willy's Wheeler, Midnight Pumpkin, Hotshot 2 and a Blackfoot but that was in bits. Late '80's was the era for cars.
