Never heard of them but the book has rave reviews: https://tinyurl.com/vbmsya7

'If you are a fan of WWI aircraft then this is a book for you. Showcasing a selection of builds of the stunningly high detailed kits available from New Zealand based brand Wingnut Wings. This publication is the second in a series of books showcasing a number of different kit builds that detail the methods and materials used to achieve the stunning models.'

I’ve built a few and have a snipe and se5 to build.

Lovely kits, but expensive.

Here’s the camel I built. There is a build thread on here if you’re interested.

One of the very best kit manufacturers. Their SE.5a almost went together without glue...

Owned by the same guy who owns Wingnut Films. None the wiser? New Zealand chap called Peter Jackson. Made Lord of the Rings etc. And of course, the if-it-ever-hjappens Dambusters remake, hence the new 1/32 Lancaster.

I've been looking forward to this ever since it was seen at 'Telford' in 2018.

I wonder if will sell? I feel that there can't be many people who have the space to display it with the wings attached
and there's probably an upper limit to what many people will pay for a kit?

The initial limited edition alternative fuselage versions Lancaster made by Hong Kong Models is still on many retailers' shelves,
and at reduced price.

Apparently the film is not going to happen, but a mini-series is on the cards.
If the kit's release is to coincide with that, we could be waiting a long time.

Note that the forum you put the photos on has disappeared... this is a problem with the internet.

Considering the quality of these Wingnut Wings kits, I think they represent very good value for money.

The HKM version isn’t the same class from what I’ve seen. I think a lot of folks will be waiting for the WnW version before committing to either.

I’ve got plenty of room to display models, but wouldn’t want a Lancaster that size. I’ll definitely be getting the front Fuselage only version though.

Huh? Scale Plastic and Rail went under years ago...Not sure why you’re trying to look at a closed down forum - the PH thread I linked to was pretty much identical and still works fine?

It will & its also why WN are doing so well in what was a packed market when they launched their first biplane stuff a few years ago. Its mental what people into the hobby will pay, I've seen blokes at Telford pushing 2k cash spends on kits but when you compare that with spends on car mods & upgrades there isn't anything between the 'hobbies'.

I knock out commission 1/16th RC tankie stuff (as well as figures/busts etc) - I pick up the RC tank kits for about £140 (Panzer III/Sherman)- £200 (King Tiger) depending on tank type. I can sell a Tiger 1 that cost me say £180 for easy £450+, painted & weathered..... & I can sell that 3 or 4 times over. Most of the time I can't keep up with demand......overseas buyers will pay another £100+ for shipping. A bezzie of mine is doing even better business than that, he's a silver medal winner in a few Telford comps a cpl years ago so has 'pedigree', i'm a modeling peasant. Last t34 he listed someone paid £700 for. Spectacular bit of modeling but that mental money....plenty of ppl will pay that though.
